A Brief History

After identifying a gap in the market in the North East of England for a contract furniture supplier to offer good quality products along with excellence in customer service to the hospitality industry, Hill Cross Furniture was established in 2000 by Jake Bailey and Richard Barker. Since the first job of supplying bespoke oak bedroom furniture to the 4-star Swinton Park Hotel near Ripon, Hill Cross has concentrated solely on the supply of tables and chairs for every sector of the leisure market. From the very outset it was evident that the emerging technology of the internet was going to be the driving force in the contract furniture industry and since 2005 we have invested literally hundreds of thousands of pounds in our five extensive websites and our bespoke back office computer systems. This has resulted in reaching and engaging with customers in previously unreachable local, regional and international locations as diverse as Azerbaijan, America, France, Ghana, Malta, Spain and Sweden.
