About Us
A brief history
Hill Cross Furniture was established in 2000 by Jake Bailey and Richard Barker. After identifying a gap in the market in the North East of England for a furniture supplier to offer good quality products along with a high level of service to the hospitality industry. Since the first job of supplying bespoke oak bedroom furniture to the 4 star Swinton Park Hotel near Ripon, Hill Cross has concentrated solely on the supply of tables and chairs for every sector of the market.
From the very outset it was evident that the emerging technology of the internet was going to be the driving force in the contract furniture industry. Since that time we have invested literally hundreds of thousands of pounds in our four extensive websites and our bespoke back office computer systems. This has resulted in reaching customers throughout the UK and carrying out deliveries in locations as diverse as Azerbaijan, America, France, Ghana, Malta, Spain and Sweden.
Today
Hill Cross Furniture is today a fast growing business employing over 30 people in total. This includes the buying office based in Italy and a bespoke timber manufacturing factory in the UK. We source product from mainly Italy but also Poland, Sweden, Germany and France. With our close links with a large range of Italian and Eastern European chair factories we feel that we can offer our clients a huge selection of designs and if necessary create bespoke pieces.
