FRAMEMAKERS ON THE MOVE!

The framemaking section are leaving the “Piggery” and moving into a purpose built new joinery workshop in the “Stable”, this new development has been designed to tailor suit our Joinery team for maximum efficiency and quality. The team have had full control of the layout of the new work space so that it suits their needs.

The development has created a 260 square yard workshop with a 90 square yard machine room, which allows for our 3 joiners to have a workbench each and more than sufficient space for all the old machinery plus the new table saw. Before anything was moved into the new area the space was clean and swept then Floor paint was used to cover concrete to make cleaning easier in the future.

New heating, lighting, power supply, insulation to walls and roof will create an efficient and safe working environment, not only for our employees in the building but timber that is stored will keep damp free and remain the same size and shape throughout production increasing accuracy and speed of manufacturing banquette seating.

A new table saw and compressor will replace the “Tired” old ones, these have been installed into the stable in the machinery area via a crane on a lorry transporting the heavy equipment; the new saw can cut full lengths of timber which will speed up the cutting process whilst still remaining 100% accurate with measurements there is also a safety device that does not allow to cut into skin, so if a finger was in the way of the saw it should stop immediately. Other existing machinery and extraction system will be moved across to the “Stable” machine room and fit into place so that all walk ways are clear and the dust extraction system will need slight improvement to fit onto all machines reducing dust levels. New additional storage facilities will be created for stock along the back wall to keep all clean and dry and all equipment can be kept in an organised form.
