Faux Leather

faux leather
  • Very similar in look to real leather (not like the traditional leatherettes) and used as an alternative to real animal hide.
  • Relatively cheap - £12-£14 / m.

  • We recommend Sekers Orzan or Warwick Lustrell Contempo.

Leather

leather
  • Material made from animal skin made smooth and flexible.
  • Expensive - price depends greatly on quality, but very good but not top quality supply is around £35 / m.
  • From an upholstery point of view, difficult to work with and as leather comes in 'hides' and is a natural product then there is a large amount of wastage.
  • High prestige product and highly comfortable for the user.
  • For a good range of top quality leather visit www.yarwood.co.uk.

Microfibre

microfibre
  • Soft, lightweight, warm and welcoming fabric with a silky soft textured surface. Microfibre is shrink-resistant, durable and provides protection against the wind, rain and cold.
  • Inexpensive - £12-£14 / m
  • Concealed in a waterproof membrane, which is both breathable and anti-microbial, ensures that spills and soiling are effectively prevented from soaking into the underlayer and can simply be wiped away.
  • We recommend "Panaz's Panvelle" range.
  • Fabric Swatch 1 - Fabric Swatch 2 - Fabric Swatch 3

Tapestry

tapestry
  • A heavy fabric made on a Jacquard loom, in imitation of hand-sewn tapestries.
  • Flat weave with no pile. Tends to suit more traditional situations.

velvet
  • Velvet is a type of tufted fabric in which the cut threads are very evenly distributed, with a short, soft dense pile, giving it its distinct feel. Velvet has long been considered a luxury fabric because it requires more thread to manufacture than other fabrics, as well as multiple steps.
  • Inexpensive - £12-£14/m.
  • High performance FR velvet is one of the most durable fabrics on the market with a rub test of over 200,000.
  • Highly suitable for high wear areas.
