The Beer Kitchen: an interior with true Craft

A new pub in Edinburgh, from craft-beer expert brewers Innis & Gunn, has recently opened boasting custom-crafted table tops supplied by Hill Cross.

With an incredible 154% increase in craft beer sales over the last 3 years (Carlsberg,2015) the rise in popularity of ‘craft’ beer can not go unnoticed by hospitality professionals.

Patrons now want produce which has integrity and they are drawn to drinks and dishes with artistic and ethical credentials.  This emphasis on craftsmanship has been a welcome trend for our customer base of hospitality interior professionals, as it leads to the desire for well thought out interiors often with bespoke fixtures and fittings.  This has led to strong style trends in hospitality interiors which boast a sense of design integrity and sustainability.

The interior of The Beer Kitchen in Edinburgh has been designed by the prestigious and award-winning Edinburgh architects, Morgan McDonnell, to provide a space worthy of the credential ales and food it serves.

All of the custom-made Solid Oak Table Tops were supplied by Hill Cross for the dining tables, booth tables, shelves and coffee tables. Made from sustainable oak and finished with Osmo Oil to ensure they can withstand the heavy footfall of the popular venue.  For al-fresco patrons, Oak shelves were also manufactured for outdoors finished in Teak Oil for a resistant finish.
